Rachel Hermes
Actor | Performer — New York

I’m Rachel Hermes, a New York based actor and performer!

Originally from Austin, Texas, I came to New York with the dream of making a place for myself amongst the chaos.

I have always been a performer, be it Irish dance, choir concerts, or small community productions, I was up on that stage. However, my true love for exploring the human condition came after witnessing a production of “Grand Hotel.” Ever since then I have sought to create raw and intimate connections with audiences.

In college I majored in Classical Languages which allowed me to dive deeply into the Ancient History of the world and where our stories come from. This desire to learn more about history is what drove me through my college theatrical works, and still does as I believe that acting is one of the purest ways to understand the world around us.

While reading pages and pages of ancient texts, I discovered that theatre and storytelling have been the constant modes for communication across time, a vessel by which we can all understand and relate to. Being able to mold and bring stories to life is something I love being enmeshed in, be it on the stage or behind the curtain. With that I plan on using my art to learn and share knowledge with audiences everywhere.

Currently, I am still in NYC where I plan to stay and am open to work anything from short films to voice overs to staged readings! I can be found outside most days taking in the beautiful city we live in. I look forward to future collaborations!
